New Year, New Studio
After years of training and planning, I proudly announce our new company, Studio Tatsu, and the official website www.studiotatsu.com. I created Studio Tatsu to start using my talents more seriously and professionally. Since 1995, I have held many roles in multimedia and technology, such as a graphic designer, traditional/digital artist, 2d/3d animator, 3d modeler, software engineer, and game developer. So what will I do with these talents? Entertain the world by creating animation, games, and new software. Hopefully, building a viable company in the process.
So what’s first?
First, I will develop and publish my first game under the Studio Tatsu name. There are plans for many games in the future, but I will start with an arcade-style game. That said, I will create a suite of tools to help develop games faster and more efficiently. Currently, our games are planned to be developed using Unity Game Engine, which can build games for almost every platform. However, no plugins or tools are available for super-quick prototyping using custom models/assets to transition to final production easily.
The Tatsu Toybox is my new solution for super-quick prototyping and creating games quickly without looking like a “cookie-cutter” template. It will be a collection of tools that will help auto rig new and custom characters and vehicles simply by dropping them into the unity scene with almost zero setups. It will also have input and camera logic, character animation, driving physics, and AI pathfinding with several presets ready for quick gameplay scenarios. This solution will allow me to focus more on making the game and not worrying about the tech while designing it. I will share insight into the development of the Tatsu Toybox as I progress.
